Residential real estate is an industry already predisposed to doing good. Our team is using this platform to amplify what’s already happening and create a movement that connects even more people with local organizations that need support. With Homes for Good, we aim to be change agents that give back to non-profits who are making a positive impact on the community and inspire others to do the same.

HOW IT WORKS.

Homes for Good makes it easy for you to give back just by showing up. Here’s how it works:

Participation

We share the non-profit’s story with the community and connect people with their organization through everyday conversations, our website, blog posts, email newsletters, social media, and other marketing.

Nomination

Each quarter, the community nominates one local non-profit to be sponsored by Homes for Good.

Donation

Throughout the quarter, our team also holds at least 20 open houses, where we make the non-profit part of our conversations with guests and donate our own money based on attendance:

YOU SHOW UP, WE DONATE.

$5

per open house.

$1

for every guest who enters that enters the home

(including agents and their clients).

$1

for every guest that joins the Homes for Good newsletter.

Guests are also welcome – but never pressured – to donate money. We work with several partners who often match donations!

There are 3 ways to support local organizations that need your help:

Come to one of our open houses and Homes for Good will donate money on your behalf just for showing up.

If you can’t attend an open house or you feel compelled to contribute even more, you can donate directly to the featured non-profit.

Tim McBride has always believed the world is too big to think small. He believes we should think about real estate differently – and he wants to be a part of making that happen.

That’s why he started Homes for Good.

Growing up in Vancouver, Tim was inspired by two things:

The altruism and entrepreneurial spirit of his father.

The charitable initiatives he saw from local professional athletes and sports teams (Go Canucks!).

Tim’s career has been dedicated to bringing these two things together. Prior to becoming a real estate agent, he co-founded, funded, and launched Pledger, a customizable fundraising software and mobile application that utilized real-time game performance statistics to trigger charitable donations from sports fans.

Now as a realtor, Tim has created another avenue for giving: Homes for Good. What started as a little experiment has blossomed into a citywide movement that brings the community together for the greater good. Wayne Gretzky once said,

You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.
